Technical Test Analyst

The Technical Test Analyst must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in conducting functional testing of web applications to fulfil the requirements for the role as a Test Analyst.
It is desirable that the Technical Test Analyst holds an ISEB/ISTQB certification but being able to compose suitable Test Documentation is essential. The duration of this role is initially for 6 months and the all-inclusive daily rate is €350 euros.
What is expected of the Technical Test Analyst? - Role and Responsibilities:
• Taking the lead and advising on the test analysis, design and execution of specific parts related to a large monolithic core solution currently being re-engineered to a micro service-based application
• Design, code and execute new automated GUI tests based on C#/Selenium Web driver triggered by continuous integration of builds.
• Design, code and execute automated tests of REST-API (micro) services running on Docker Swarm clusters
• Design and execute manual test scripts of the Solution
• Design and execute performance test scripts (based on JMeter)
• Design and execute testing of system integrations, data migrations or BI solutions 
• Creating representative test data for the Solution.
Required Skills:
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in conducting functional testing of web applications.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in designing, coding and executing automated GUI tests using a (.net or JAVA) programming language and respective tools, such as Selenium WebDriver
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in designing, coding and executing automated REST-API tests on applications based on a micro-service architecture or running in containers
• A minimum of 6 months of experience in test planning and test management
• A minimum 6 months of experience in conducting performance testing of web applications / services
• Knowledge of how to: determine suitable test approaches, compose suitable Test Documentation, define suitable acceptance criteria, review structurally work products from other teams

Software Test Analyst

Role:

To test and develop software across multiple projects ensuring that all output meets defined functional and non-functional requirements and that all defects are effectively managed and resolved.

Key Responsibilities:

    

  • Ensure that all functional and non-functional design requirements are correctly translated into test cases / scenarios.
  • Ensure the configuration control of the hardware and software test environment is managed.
  • To perform the required testing and accurately record/report test results.
  • Perform testing activities within the project budget and on time.
  • Ensure that identified defects are properly identified and reviewed.
  • To read the requisite design documentation and gain a full understanding of the functional and non-functional project requirements.
  • To independently decompose the system design requirements into logical units for testing purposes.
  • To create the test strategies, plans and specifications and include detailed test cases to validate positive / negative scenarios for each logical unit.
  • Configure environments as needed to complete assigned testing.
  • To work within customer environments performing and recording tests.
  • To execute the detailed test cases and maintain the test records with associated results / configurations.
  • Provide test summary reports to the Project Team.
  • To provide necessary support to the software development team by resolving queries relating to identified defects.
  • To advise on the selection of any test software or tools required for testing.

  • Deliver released software from development / test to customer sites and complete final User Acceptance Testing at the clients facility.

Qualifications & Experience:

 

  • Knowledge of Airline/Handler baggage operational processes
  • Working knowledge of current legislative requirements as applied to software products (e.g. graphical user interface standards).
  • A working knowledge of software release, configuration management systems.
  • A working knowledge of installing / configuring applications on Windows/Unix/Linux server environments
  • Experience of using SQL to query database table content (preferably Oracle)
  • Experience of working in an ISO 9001 / Tickit environment.
  • Experience of performing similar roles in airports / logistics or materials handling.
  • Working in process control, warehouse automation, industrial control logistics or a similar business area.
