Fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, hands on Project Manager to work with an international technology giant on a very exciting new project. The successful candidate will act as Project Manager on several research & development projects and work closely with the Head of Portfolio Management. They'll also get a chance to work with the latest cutting edge technology whilst leading teams designing games, videos and web applications.
There are a range of responsibility that come with this position but the primary ones are creating project plans, controlling and reporting project progress and contributing to improving project management and software development practices. For some projects the role will be very hands on working directly with the engineers and other projects the Project Manager will take consultancy role.
Skills and experience
- Manage a ‘simple' project with the following characteristics: low risk, cost, importance, visibility, single organization, single site. Experience managing several of these type of projects
- Manage a ‘normal' project with some of the following characteristics: medium risk, cost, importance, visibility, commercial customer/supplier relationship, multiple sites. Experience managing at least one of these type of projects
- Build effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Influence without formal power
- Respond to fast-changing context with flexibility and initiative
- High degree of personal organisation, clear thinker and communicator
- Use iterative/agile/lean practices
- General understanding of software development
- Project management qualification (eg PRINCE2, APM, PMI)
Location: Central London
Rate: £250 a day.
Contract Length: 12 months.
