Overview
We are looking for a Senior System Engineer/Administrator to support the containerisation and migration of a critical application from a traditional VM-based setup to a Docker-based environment. This role focuses on integration, deployment, and operational management of containerised applications within a complex production environment.

Key Responsibilities
Support the migration of an existing application from virtual machines to a Docker-based deployment
Take ownership of integrating and deploying Docker images provided by development teams
Configure and manage Docker runtime environments on Linux-based virtual machines (networking, storage, resource allocation, lifecycle management)
Plan and execute application upgrades, including version transitions, rollback strategies, and compatibility validation
Ensure platform stability and resiliency during migration and ongoing operations
Support system and application integration across containerised applications, databases, and external services
Investigate and resolve production issues through log analysis and root cause analysis
Develop and maintain operational procedures and scripts for deployment and lifecycle management
Collaborate closely with application developers, infrastructure, and operations teams

Required Skills & Experience
6–9 years of experience in system engineering or administration
Strong hands-on experience with Docker containerisation
Proven experience deploying Docker containers on virtual machines
Solid understanding of Docker lifecycle management (images, containers, networking, volumes, resource constraints)
Strong experience in system and application integration
Experience with Linux Red Hat environments (RHEL 8 preferred)
Strong scripting experience with KSH
Basic to intermediate Python programming skills
Experience supporting production environments (log analysis, troubleshooting, root cause analysis)
Ability to work closely with development teams on integration and deployment activities

Knowledge of PKI / SSL (certificate management and security)
