Functional Analyst
Location: EU-Based | Start: ASAP | Long-Term Contract

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Functional Analyst to join a high-level, security-focused environment within a major institutional setting.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior IT professional with strong analytical capability, experience in regulated environments, and the ability to operate confidently across both business and technical teams.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree minimum (Master’s preferred)
At least 7 years of relevant IT experience
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Functional Analyst within defence, government, EU institutions, secure communications, cryptography, or financial institutions
EU nationality required
EU/NATO SECRET clearance (can be initiated prior to onboarding)
Excellent English (C1–C2 level); French is advantageous

Core Responsibilities
Perform gap analysis and recommend appropriate solutions
Analyse existing systems and identify improvement opportunities
Define and document functional software requirements
Contribute to data analytics activities
Oversee solution delivery in line with specifications
Validate system functionality against defined requirements
Produce technical documentation including user manuals, configuration documents and reports

Technical & Professional Skills
Strong understanding of systems engineering concepts
Solid knowledge of database concepts including DBMS, ETL and SQL
Experience with modelling and analysis tools (UML, BPMN, use case diagrams, state diagrams, ER models)
Strong ability to draft high-quality functional analysis documentation
Analytical mindset with strong investigative skills
Ability to understand broader system impacts and the bigger picture
Confident presenting to both business and technical stakeholders
Comfortable working in multilingual environments
Excellent communication skills
Strong command of MS Office tools
Ability to work to high quality standards in structured environments
