Job Title: Senior COBOL Developer (AS400 / iSeries)

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior COBOL Developer with strong expertise in AS400 / iSeries environments to join a dynamic team based in Mauritius. This is an exciting opportunity to work on critical legacy systems that support core business operations, while contributing to modernization and system enhancement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and support applications written in COBOL within AS400 / iSeries environments
Analyze existing systems and provide enhancements, optimizations, and bug fixes
Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and translate requirements
Perform impact analysis for system changes and ensure minimal disruption to operations
Write and maintain technical documentation
Support testing, deployment, and post-implementation activities
Participate in system modernization or migration initiatives where applicable

Required Skills & Experience:

Proven experience as a COBOL Developer, with senior-level expertise
Strong hands-on experience with AS400 / iSeries (IBM i) platforms
Solid understanding of RPG (preferred but not essential)
Experience with DB2 databases and embedded SQL
Familiarity with batch processing, job control, and system operations in AS400
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment

Desirable Skills:

Experience in system modernization or legacy transformation projects
Knowledge of integration with modern technologies (APIs, web services)
Exposure to Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies
