BTS Systems Expert (5G Systems Research)

Overview

Endeavour Recruitment is looking for a BTS Systems Expert on behalf of a leading global telecommunications R&D organisation based in Gothenburg, Sweden.
This role sits within a 5G systems research environment and requires a senior technical expert capable of contributing to and leading advanced research initiatives within next-generation wireless systems.
You will analyse requirements, define and design system and product architectures, and validate proposed solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams including system design, product development, and product management.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct research on 5G BTS system architectures (FR1 Sub-10GHz)
Develop innovative and cost-efficient solutions for current and future wireless networks
Perform analytical performance evaluations of new system concepts and architectures
Contribute to system definition, architectural design, and validation
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hardware, antenna, algorithm, channel modelling, and system specialists

Qualifications & Experience

PhD or advanced MSc in Communication Engineering, Signal Processing, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or related field
Strong background in wireless communications and wireless systems
Deep knowledge of RF systems and multi-antenna systems
Solid understanding of antenna systems, channel models, and wireless propagation
Experience with radio systems and components (eNodeB, gNodeB preferred)
Proven experience in wireless system performance evaluation and optimisation
Programming experience in Python and/or C++ for technical analysis
Strong knowledge of 5G NR standards and associated technologies
Understanding of Layer 1 and Layer 2 algorithms within NR or similar wireless systems
