Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Developer to join a specialist documentation-focused engineering team. This is a fully remote, permanent opportunity offering flexible working and the chance to contribute to customer-driven, enterprise-grade content solutions.
You will play a key role in designing, developing, and enhancing solutions for creating, managing, and delivering technical documentation for large, enterprise customers, primarily using AEM Sites, Assets, and Guides.
The role provides exposure to a broad technology stack and the opportunity to work on customised, integrated solutions for component content management and publishing.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Design and develop complex AEM components tailored to client requirements
Solve technical challenges related to XML-based content
Work with Adobe Experience Manager Guides (DITA CCMS), understanding and enhancing its client/server architecture
Support and further enhance existing AEM integrations with third-party tools (e.g. semantic taxonomy management platforms)
Customise and extend the Oxygen XML Author environment using Java-based APIs
Work with the DITA Open Toolkit (XSLT-based publishing)
Collaborate closely with the wider team to deliver scalable, maintainable solutions
Technical Skills & Experience
You will already have, or be keen to develop, experience in the following areas:
Strong understanding of the AEM platform and backend customisation
Creating custom servlets, schedulers, workflows, and OSGi services
Hands-on experience with Apache Sling API and JCR / Node APIs
AEM backend development including listeners and workflow customisation
Front-end integration using HTML5, JavaScript, and jQuery
REST API integration with AEM
Strong Java development experience
