Release Engineer / Liverpool

The role:

As a successful applicant, you will work under direction of the department Senior Release Engineer and will provide release engineering services to the global development community. The Release Engineer works closely with Development, Quality Assurance, Database Development and IT Systems to promote and maintain continuous build and integration systems.

The individual will be hands on with day-to-day support of the key services actively providing build, packaging and delivery services.

Job Description / Responsibilities:

  • Working with development and release leaders maintain established build systems, create reporting, providing status updates and refresh environments for testing using established Release Engineering procedures.
  • The person will be expected to translate release engineering process and procedures to host and maintain customized automated build, packaging and delivery systems.
  • Assist studios and title leaders in timely debugging of build failures, even in the late evening.
  • Consult with studio development leaders and ensure compliance to platforms.
  • Develop and maintain build scripts in Perl or other scripting language consistently following SIE's coding standards and in accordance with applicable software development methodology and release processes.
  • Support latest build test environments and delivery processes; facilitate/participate troubleshooting issues to root cause.
  • Perform pre and post-production submission support.
  • Working with Release Engineering leadership to drive continuous improvement. Apply a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities providing excellent service in a timely fashion.

Release Engineer

Endeavour Recruitment has a new opportunity for a Release Engineer for our International Technology client based in Liverpool.  The successful candidate will be working with developers and release leaders to maintain established build systems, create reporting dashboards, provide status updates and refresh environments for testing using established release procedures.  The salary for this role will be between £25,000 and £43,700 depending upon experience.

 

The successful candidate will have a Degree in Computer Science or similar discipline.  A minimum of 1 years’ experience in Technical Software Build and Release Engineering.  Advantageous would be practical experience of testing and releasing software within an Agile environment.
