Endeavour is looking for an experienced Python software engineer to join our Financial client’s growing technology team, based in London for an exciting career opportunity.

The role will follow a hybrid model with proportion of the working week remotely.

The successful Python Developer will be someone who enjoys innovating, problem solving and wants to be at the forefront of transformation. As our client continues to grow organically and through acquisition, the firm is in the process of redefining its technology strategy which requires proprietary applications that can grow at scale.

The current technology landscape is a mixture of off-the-shelf applications and bespoke in-house developments. The integration of these platforms will be paramount before further developing client facing technology.

The selected Python software engineer will report to Chief Technology Officer and be responsible for the following key areas:

• Delivering Python-based application with a web frontend (Django preferable)

• Integration of existing enterprise grade applications

• Delivering bespoke web development to a large client base

• To assist in architecting the future state of software development

Required skills/experience:

• 3 + years commercial experience as a senior developer

• A BSC in Computer Science or an equivalent analytical/numerate subject

• Have commercial hands-on coding experience

• Experience of leveraging REST APIs to undertake application integration

• Experience of unit and end-to-end testing of Python

• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases

• Experience with software version control, specifically Git/GitHub (checking in/out, committing,

branching and tagging)

• Be well versed with Test Driven Development and Paired Programming

• Be passionate about collaboration and influencing peers and junior engineers

• Have excellent communication skills and be comfortable communicating complex ideas to

people at all levels across our business

Endeavour Recruitment has an superb opportunity for a Cloud native developer  to join our leading client based in Leuven (Belgium). This is a 12 month contract with possible extension, paying a  daily rate of €400 all-inclusive based on a 40-hour week.

Requirements of the project

You will need to be a creative mind, a critical and outside of the box thinker showing a degree of flexibility and able to function in a sociable and creative environment.

The highly skilled, enthusiastic, communicative developer will build applications with a cloud native design in function incorporating flexible releases and integration with cloud eco-systems.

In-depth experience and knowledge as a Senior Java engineer with the ability to build and design the backend services and technical capabilities in a logical process.

The developer will work together in a multi-functional team to automatize build-integration-deploy-test processes and build functional, qualitative applications. 

Focus on the base layer of the newly designed platform, adopting the best technologies to apply.

Evaluation on how to build and maintain the different components of this layer will be undertaken  during the design and build of the new platform.

An ability to clearly communicate with project teams and stakeholders within the business is essential for this role, therefore a positive attitude and focus to keep motivation high when challenged will be a benefit to this role. 

Detail orientated individuals with good in multitasking abilities when working under strict deadlines will succeed in this role. 

A fluency in English is essential  and the ability to speak Dutch is a positive benefit in this role.

Essential skills and experience required for the role.

  • A determination to keep up to date with the latest web technologies
  • Expertise in object-oriented en-functional programming in modern programming languages
  • Relevant experience in the following technologies: Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Javascript Angular (2), Maven, Jenkins, Git, Virtualization (Docker, Kubernetes), …
  • Database knowledge and experience: PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL (mongoDB, …)
  • Java frameworks like spring/springboot and cloud related databases (SQL and No-SQL). For a few pilot applications (K ‘ching and Appyourservice).
  • Expertise with front end and RESTful webservices, JSON, …
  • Very good knowledge of software development best practices
  • Design patterns

Test Analyst

Security Cleared ISEB/ISTQB Tester Analyst(Quality Assurance) with 2-4 years commercial experience required to join a large European Organisation on a long term contract based in the Netherlands. Working language is English.  Start Date 1st April 2016.  11 Month Contract.

 

The successful candidate will be taking the lead and advising on test analysis, design and execution, as well as performing automated regression testing based on the existing Solution specifications.  The tasks include Design, Code and Execute new automated tests based on C#/Selenium WebDriver.

Maintain code for existing automated tests.  Design and Execute Manual Test Scripts of the solution.

Essential Requirements:

  • 5 + Years Functional Testing Web Applications
  • 6 Months + Functional Testing of Web Services
  • 6 Months + Performance Testing of Web Applications / Services
  • 2 + Years Designing, Coding & Executing Automated Tests
  • 2 + Years Using Automated Test Tools such as QuickTest, Selenium WebDriver or HP Unified
  • 6 Months + Experience of Test Planning and Management

Essential Knowledge:

  • Testing Techniques – Black Box or White Box
  • How to Determine Suitable Test Approaches
  • Ability to Compose Suitable Test Documentation
  • Define Suitable Acceptance Criteria
  • Review Structurally Work Products from Other Teams

Desirable Experience:

  • Knowledge of Functional Automated Regression Tests utilising HP Function Testing.
  • Knowledge of Functional Automated Regression Tests using Selenium WebDriver in a Continuous Integration Environment
  • Knowledge of How to Conduct Performance Testing of Web Applications / Services
  • ISEB/ISTQB Certified
  • Knowledge of Test Management, Planning, Test Metrics and Estimations
  • Knowledge of Testing the Following Software Quality Characters – Functionality, Technical Security, Usability, Efficiency, Reliability & Maintainability
